In several countries, Serratia marcescens is frequently associated with epidemics in intensive care units in particular in neonatal and pediatric units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To prevent outbreak, surveillance requires effective recovery of clinical isolates from faeces,\u00a0wound exudates, respiratory and environmental samples.
