Micronaut Identification (ID)

More than 400 different bacteria and yeasts can be differentiated with the MICRONAUT identification systems. The test principle of the MICRONAUT identification systems is based on phenotypic detection of the biochemical properties of micro-organisms. In all identification systems the various substrates are placed in dehydrated form into the wells of the microtitration plates and are dissolved by adding bacterial suspensions.
After 5 to 24 hours of incubation depending on the test system the ID plate is measured in the photometer and the test is evaluated by the MICRONAUT software. A visual check of the test results can be also performed. The special vacuum drying process allows storage at 15 to 25 °C. The MICRONAUT test plates can be stored for 24 months after production.

Product descriptions:

The microplate photometer

Microplate photometer for fast and standardized reading of all MICRONAUT plates.

MICRONAUT Software

Designed for rapid reading, calculation and validation of MICRONAUT systems

MICRONAUT software

Principle
All patient data (specimen number, name, data of birth) and test types can be manually administered or imported from the mainframe. The MICRONAUT software generates work lists defining an optimized inoculation procedure considering an economic use of test plates.
Subsequently to evaluate the identification result is attached the corresponding susceptibility pattern.

Expert
This portion of the MICRONAUT software checks the plausibility of the susceptibility test results. Identification results are compared with typical resistance profiles. In case of discrepancies to the typical profiles, additional tests are recommended for the corresponding isolates. Exceptional and impossible phenotypes can be detected.

Flexible
The MICRONAUT software enables an optimal adjustment to your laboratory requirements. Besides the possibility of patient data registration and generation of ready to delivery laboratory findings, the MICRONAUT software can be extended by a quality control program and a statistic program.

Minimum hardware requirements
Standard PC with > 300 MHz clock frequency
> 128 MB main memory
> 100 MB free hard disk space
